Dixon is the center for a broad variety of medical and health related services, anchored by KSB Hospital. KSB has provided residents with quality care for over 100 years and is a teaching hospital to the University of Illinois Rockford College of Medicine Family Medicine Residency Program. This is the only program of its kind in Illinois and one of only 21 in the nation.
An impressive variety of specialists serve patient needs using state-of-the-art equipment and practices. Local clinics and group practices provide for cancer care, MRI, outpatient dialysis and same-day outpatient surgery. There is a broad provider network as well for social services, psychiatry, mental health counseling and assistance, chiropractic care, podiatry, orthopedics, and obstetrics/gynecology.
Skilled intermediate, convalescent and nursing care facilities, assisted living, Hospice and Alzheimer's care are also available.
- Katherine Shaw Bethea Hospital (KSB) has served the Dixon area for over 100 years. KSB is continuously expanding and adding programs to keep pace with our growing community and its complex healthcare needs. KSB is a fully licensed and accredited 100-bed acute care facility.
- Lee County Health Department serves the area on a wide range of public health issues: environmental health services; nutrition; maternal and child; chronic disease; communicable disease; mental health and developmental disabilities.
- Sinnissippi Centers, Inc. is a fully accredited behavioral healthcare center providing services in: crisis support; individual & family counseling; addictions and recovery assistance and; clinical services. Sinnissippi Centers has served our area for over 36 years.
- A number of primary care and multi-specialty group practices provide patients with routine healthcare, surgery and a broad range of medical specialties. These providers include: KSB Medical Group; KSB Corporate Health Services Occupational and Sports Medicine; Edwards Clinic; The Dixon Clinic; KSB Medical Group, Ashton; KSB Center for Health Services, Amboy; McNichols Clinic; Northern Illinois Cancer Treatment Center; James Hey DDS and; Theodore Moss DMD.
